Job Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Bid and Content Writer to join our Business Development Team, reporting to the Business Development Director. This role requires a proven track record in bid writing or proposal development, combined with strong research abilities and exceptional writing skills.
The primary focus of the role will be to support the development of high-quality bids and proposals for NHS contracts. The successful candidate will work closely with the Bid Manager, Business Development Director, and Subject Matter Experts from across our corporate functions—including clinical, HR, estates, finance, governance, and operations—to develop clear, compelling, and competitive submissions.
Beyond bid writing, the role will also involve producing a range of written content, including: · Case studies and success stories showcasing Operose Health's impact and expertise. · Presentations and marketing materials to support business development initiatives. · Website content and thought leadership articles to enhance brand positioning.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in bid writing or proposal development, preferably within healthcare or public sector environments. Strong candidates will also bring experience in content writing, research, or technical writing. An understanding of primary care within the NHS would be advantageous, as would experience working with subject matter experts to develop complex proposals.

Role Responsibility
Key duties will include:
- Bid Writing & Research:
- Support the development of bids and proposals, ensuring they are clear, well-structured, and aligned with NHS and commissioner expectations.
- Work with the Bid Manager and Business Development Director to review and refine content for submissions.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to source accurate and relevant information for bids.
- Conduct research on NHS policies, tender requirements, and healthcare trends to strengthen bid responses.
- Content Development:
- Draft case studies and success stories, highlighting the impact of Operose Health’s services.
- Develop presentation materials and marketing collateral to support business growth.
- Write website content and thought leadership articles, positioning Operose Health as an industry leader.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including clinical, HR, finance, governance, and estates, to gather the necessary data and insights for bids.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in messaging across all written materials.
- Adapt content for different audiences, ensuring clarity and engagement.
- Project & Deadline Management:
- Manage multiple writing projects, often working to tight deadlines for time-sensitive bid submissions.
- Ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all written work.
- Support the wider Business Development Team in bid planning and document management.

Key Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in bid writing and proposal development, with demonstrable experience in producing successful submissions.
- Exceptional writing and research skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling content.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all written materials.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with experience managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders, building effective relationships to source and validate key information for bids and case studies.
- Experience in developing technical or complex content, ideally within healthcare, public sector, or similar regulated environments.
- Knowledge of NHS procurement processes and bid writing best practices.
- Understanding of primary care or wider NHS structures would be advantageous.
Professional Background
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in bid writing, proposal development, or similar role.
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline such as English, Business, Healthcare Management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Track record of contributing to successful tender submissions.
