Communications Officer

Job Introduction

Operose Health are looking for a Communications Officer for 37.5 hours per week.

Role Responsibility

Key duties will include:

  • To create and promote compelling content around our high-quality NHS GP and urgent care services, employer brand and innovative healthcare approach for use with internal and external audiences.
  • Promote and protect Operose Health’s brand as the country’s leading provider of NHS-funded primary care services.
  • Develop high quality and compelling communication material and plans to engage positively with our internal and external audiences.
  • Create content that is easily adapted for multiple external and internal channels.
  • Use social media, graphics and other approaches to maximise impact and awareness.
  • Create regular updates on local services for patients, stakeholders and the media.
  • Maximise proactive opportunities, such as national awareness campaigns, to promote our services, innovation and progress.
  • Support staff engagement, retention and recruitment with targeted and relevant messaging.
  • Supporting other departments and operational teams with specific projects.
  • Work as part of the wider team to deliver agreed priorities and objectives.
  • Being the lead for communication and engagement advice and activity for specific projects, working closely with a range of colleagues across our family.
  • Source, develop and deliver a wide range of compelling material at speed, to high standards and in line with our brand and voice.
  • Engaging effectively and positively with senior leaders and colleagues across the business to make sure communications is playing its full role in driving Operose Health’s success.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local patient and community groups, stakeholders and media to broaden our reach and promote our people, quality and success.
  • Writing for different internal and external audiences in a way that cuts through, translating the complex world of primary care into relevant, accessible and useful information.
  • Taking a 360-degree approach to stories, so they fit for multiple audiences.
  • Prioritising your workload effectively, being well-organised and able to flex, multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Maintaining a robust understanding of Operose Health’s growth strategies and operating environment so communication and engagement activity is optimally positioned publicly.
  • Challenging yourself and the team to go above and beyond.

The Ideal Candidate

Interested? What you will need to be considered:

  • Minimum three years communications experience in a busy organisation. covering internal and / or external audiences.
  • Strong writer, able to produce engaging and accurate copy at speed.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a small team and with minimum supervision.
  • Comfortable working remotely as well as face-to-face.
  • Must be confident, curious and creative and enjoy challenges.
  • Knowledge of the NHS or health sector is welcome, but willingness to learn is as important.

Package Description

What we can offer you as an Communications Officer:

  • Annual salary of up to £35,000 depending on experience.
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata.
